Well, it's six o'clock on the west coast
And I'm waiting for the sun to come
I miss the hours of the weekend
When I knew I had time to waste
It's a breezy spring morning
When I finally get outside
I'm in love with the way the branches sway
As the wind sings me a song, and it goes:
"It's 9 a.m. on the eastern shore
And it's 9 a.m. for you
And I can't imagine what that's like
To live the way you do"
Leave me a message short and sweet so I can hear your voice
Tell me about the morning and the night before, the night before
And we both know that distance makes the heart grow fonder
So I hope you also can't wait any longer
"I'm sick and tired of Mondays just like these
And I'm sick and tired of never knowing where you'll be
All I can hope is that it’s worth it in the end"

I messed up today
It was nothing big, just a little thing
But for the rest of the day
I'll be thinking all about it, you tell me:
"One mistake doesn't make you a pariah"
And one mistake you can move on from
"One mistake, you ain't screwed up forever"
Yeah, I can take what I learned and grow
"Oh, one mistake, you won't even remember"
There's so much more to our lives
"Give it two mistakes, then maybe we'll start over"
But we'll cross that bridge when we get there, dear
And it's Tuesday, and the rain pours down
And the clouds roll through the sky
And we're walking down Lawrence
As the passing cars roll by
And that one mistake isn't even on your mind
For goodness' sakes, honey, don't trip the breaker
You know it'll make her cry
And by her I mean me 'cause the third person seems
Like a way to garner sympathy by externalising
And oh! let's turn the lights back on and sing a song for two:
"My one mistake had nothing to do with you
And I'd tell you about that mistake but now there's nothing to"

Wednesday

And I'm sorry that I haven't had time for you lately
I've been taking some time to figure out where all of this leaves me
'Cause I'm actualising my hopes and wants
I'll be moving away from these old haunts
And I'm loving the way you'll love the way I'm gone
When I'm gone
You say you love me, what am I supposed to say?
'Cause I didn't ask you, anyway
And I don't mean to ruin your Wednesday
But I kind of just don't care
'Cause I'm mixing things up, do things I wouldn't usually do
And trying to prove to myself that I don't need you
And babe, so far it's working, but it's leaving me scared
What do I do if I don't need you?
Sell my stuff over the internet and get the rest packed up
Take a train to anywhere else and see just what they've got
How many lives do you get to live if you just give that a chance?
Is anyone ever gonna let me go without pomp and circumstance?
'Cause it's messing me up, and I don't know how to take it
Skip through the song and dance, I can't fake it
I gave those lessons a try
But you know I got like three left feet

Thursday
02:48
|
|

Turn around, there's a skull on your shoulders
Can't quite make it out from here
Time and time again I see someone around
Who looks unabashedly queer
Oh, baby, 'cause I love you
I've been wondering how to live like you
Oh, baby, 'cause I want to
Be someone who looks the way you do
Take my hand, there's a layer of spiders
And webbing that covers the floor
Thursday's good but today's better
I know you'll just ask me what for
Oh, darling, 'cause I must know
Teach me all the things that make you you
Oh, darling, 'cause I'm holding
On to hope there's something I can do
But don't you ever give up for giving up's sake
There is no afterglow; there's only intense shame

Friday

It's Friday night, I'm bored
Let's go down to a haunted house
I hear there's a spooktacular one
Just a few blocks down the street
You'll be fine, I'll hold your hand
And nothing's gonna getcha
Just remember nothing's real
Except the cute girl next t'ya
But in the darkness in the street
I start to shiver, start to shake
You ask me what's wrong, and I don't answer
We keep on walking down the way
It's Friday night, I'm tired
Let's sit down for a moment
I thought it must be closer than this
I hope we didn't pass it
You turn your flashlight on
And shine the bright light toward me
Your eyes grow wide
And then you start to scream
And in the darkness in the street
The full moon like a bauble shines down on me
Fur and claws and fangs in my jaw, I have transformed
And there's nothing I want more than to howl
O lovely lady by my side
I think it's you I'll dine on tonight

Saturday

I spend my whole week waiting for Saturday
Oh, my Saturday
And she still isn't here, not here
I wonder where she's gotten to
Take my nuclear football
Take my seat on the bench
Sometimes I sit and wonder
Whether it was heaven-sent
I spend my whole week waiting for Saturday
Oh, my Saturday
But it seems that she's passing me by
And I guess I can't complain
'Cause if it wasn't for disappointment
I wouldn't have any appointments
That's from a song called "Snowball in Hell"
And it's only in here to annoy my brother
Take a part in our motion picture
Take apart origami
I've been thinking about
What I'd be doing if you never saw me

Sunday

|
|

Good morning, sunshine
The day has finally come
And I'm holding on too tight
But I ain't ever letting go
And remember how it was
Yesteryear, before the summer
I've been tired for so long
But now I'm ready, form a circle
And ring around the rosie
Sunday, yeah, I'll come your way
And I never should have left to begin with
Oh, Sunday, yeah, say my name
And I'll stay, and I'll stay, and I'll never leave again
Oh, Sunday, my heart breaks
I'm a fool, I'm a knave, I'm a cur and curmudgeon
Oh, Sunday, no, I'm not afraid
Because I'm coming home to you
A pocket full of posies
Sunday's taking me back, she's taking me back
She's taking me back, oh lord
Sunday's taking me back, she's taking me back
She's taking me back, oh lord
Sunday's taking me back, she's taking me back
She's taking me back, oh lord
Sunday's taking me back, she's taking me back
She's taking me back, oh lord
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down

Everyday
02:16
|
|

I don't care if the sun turns to rain
I will bask in nature's splendour
I don't care if the pleasure turns to pain
I will show God I'll endure
I try to cherish each and every day
I'm so in love with all of you, I'd say
I don't mind if the water turns to wine
Though for seven months I'll find myself parched
I don't need a whole lot of sympathy
Though I know it comes from the bottom of your heart
I try to cherish each and every day
I'm so in love with all of you, I'd say
I think by now you know
I think I've lost it
Somewhere in everyday
'Cause there's a cost to
The things we take for granted
And I really have to hand it to you
You put up with the things I do
And I don't know how you stand it

"Going back to yesterday was easier than it seemed
No one had even tried, no one had even tried
Going back to yesterday made nothing feel the same
It cleft the world in twain, oh
But you're still gone, and I'm still to blame"

Hey, hello, hi, how are you?
Are you ready to get up and see what we can do?
There's a whole United States in the palm of your hand
You're on the jungle gym of life
Perched like a lovebird over the bark mulch
Flip that bird to circumstance and let go of the bars
"Welcome to today
It's just like yesterday
Except the things you do are happening right now
No time to waste on wasting time
'Cause that's all the time we have
And there's no time like the present, is there?"
Hey, hello, are you still with me?
Please don't tell me that you turned off the video
I know my smiling face can be a little much to bear
Go take a break, get a glass of water
Do a push-up, stare out the skylight
Then come back and sit yourself down, let's get started
Have you ever wondered where
The people more successful than
Yourself and I get all their motivation?
Have you ever noticed that
The people more enraptured by
The dumbest things kick the bucket first?
"Welcome to your life
Hope you can sleep at night
Or maybe don't because we've got so much to do
Breaking hearts and breaking glass
Yeah, we're spring break broken now
Carpe diem, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"
Clock is ticking and we're running out of time
Vite vite, it's time to wrap this up
If you can't finish, well, there's nothing to do about it
But we both know that unfinished art is cr
"Welcome to today
It's just like yesterday
Except the things you do are happening right now
No time to waste on wasting time
'Cause that's all the time we have
And there's no time like the present, is there?
Welcome to your life
Hope you can sleep at night
Or maybe don't because we've got so much to do
Breaking hearts and breaking glass
Yeah, we're spring break broken now
Carpe diem, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"

Tomorrow

The sun'll come out tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun
Just thinking about tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow 'til there's none
When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and say
Oh! The sun'll come out tomorrow
So you got to hang on 'til tomorrow, come what may!
Tomorrow, tomorrow
I love you, tomorrow
You're always a day away
The sun'll come out tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun
Just thinking about tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow 'til there's none
When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and say
Oh! The sun'll come out tomorrow
So you got to hang on 'til tomorrow, come what may!
Tomorrow, tomorrow
I love you, tomorrow
You're always a day away
Tomorrow, tomorrow
I love you, tomorrow
You're only a day away
